China's automobile mold industry has developed rapidly and has made great progress. However, compared with the advanced level in foreign countries, there is still a clear gap. Mainly in the following points:
First, the manufacturing precision is poor. Taking seals as an example, many people have reported that China's domestic car sealing performance is not good. In fact, this is not only related to the level of sealing material and seal manufacturing, but also directly related to the level of the relevant mold. At present, foreign auto companies are implementing the "2 mm" project, but in China, a single part can still be done. There are no guarantees for assembling hundreds of parts together. The key lies in the mold.
Second, the mold life is short. Take aluminum die-casting mold as an example, the foreign advanced level has reached more than 1 million times, while China has only 200,000 times, only 1/5 of the foreign level.
Third, the mold development cycle is long. In the past, China's automobile models have remained unchanged for decades, and the development of automotive molds has been slow. With the fierce competition, the speed of new generation of automobile products is accelerating, and the mold industry is required to shorten the mold development cycle accordingly. At present, the development cycle of foreign medium-sized die-casting molds is only 1-2 months, the development cycle of automobile cover parts is 6-7 months, and China is 2-3 times of foreign level. Therefore, although some of the more domestic automobile mold factories have developed new molds, they often lose market competitiveness because they cannot keep up with the pace of new generation of automobile products.
The main reason for the above problems is that the enterprise structure of China's automobile mold industry is unreasonable, and the software development, management and personnel quality are far from the advanced level of foreign countries.
First, the degree of specialization and standardization is low. On the other hand, automotive molds have entered the stage of specialization and standardization. Foreign automobile molds are basically provided by professional mold manufacturers. The mold commercialization rate is over 70%. There are also many enterprises with standard mold parts, and there are hundreds of standard parts for automobile molds. The main mold production capacity in China is concentrated in the mold factory or workshop of each main engine factory, and the mold commercialization rate is low. Although the enterprise structure was adjusted during the "Ninth Five-Year Plan" period, the ratio of self-production and self-production of molds was still as high as 70%. In terms of automotive mold standard parts, there are only two companies in China with batch quantities.
